The annual Old Settlers celebration in Halstead has taken place since 1887.  Starting as a community gathering and picnic, Old Settlers is now a weekend of activities for all ages that includes things such as the Grand Parade and Flyover, the Great Race, Fireworks show along the Little Arkansas River, community BBQ picnic, live entertainment and music and multiple contests and tournaments.  This annual celebration is held the weekend of the second Saturday in August.
